ODD FACT
The Dennis DS was specifically designed as a short-wheelbase “village” fire engine for tight streets and rural areas, meaning it could turn in places where larger fire appliances would struggle. Despite being shorter, many were fitted with full-size pumps and ladders, so they could do almost everything their bigger Dennis brothers could — just with a tighter turning circle and often a cheeky reputation among crews for being “the pocket rocket” of the fire service.
Can I drive the car myself?
No. For safety, legal, and insurance reasons, all of our police vehicles are driven by our experienced on-set drivers only. This also ensures accurate positioning for filming and prevents any risk of damage.
Can the blue lights and sirens be used during filming?
Yes – but only under strict conditions and in compliance with UK law. We can operate the blue lights and sirens on private roads, studio lots, or controlled filming locations. On public roads, usage must be approved by the relevant authorities.
Do you deliver outside of London?
Absolutely. We regularly deliver vehicles nationwide using our modern recovery truck. The Dennis Fire Engine can be transported anywhere in the UK, with or without additional vehicles in tow.
Can you change the livery for my production?
Yes. We own and maintain all vehicles in-house, and our professional graphics team can create custom liveries to suit your storyline — including fictional police designs.
Can the Dennis Fire Engine be hired with other emergency vehicles?
Yes. We can supply it alongside our 1995 Ford Transit Ambulance and 1998 Rover Police Car for multi-vehicle scenes or era-specific shoots.
Is the car road legal?
