PERFECT FOR FILM/TV PRODUCTIONS

Our Rover 820 has been carefully maintained and period-correct for late 90s and early 2000s productions. It’s been chosen by leading names in the industry — including BBC, Netflix, and Universal — for its on-screen presence and accuracy.

For era-specific shoots, we can pair it with:

1995 Ford Transit Emergency Ambulance – ideal for urban or emergency scene sets.

1986 Dennis Fire Engine – perfect for action sequences or multi-vehicle shoots.

PROFESSIONAL DELIVERY AND ON SET SUPPORT

We don’t just provide the vehicle — we provide the full service: Delivered anywhere in the UK on our modern recovery truck (capable of towing another vehicle behind). Experienced on-set driver to operate and position the car safely. Full insurance cover and all legal requirements met.

Flexible hire durations from a few hours to multiple days.

BRANDING THIS VEHICLE

All of our vehicles are owned and maintained in-house, ensuring reliability and attention to detail. The Rover 820 is kept in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, ready for HD close-up work.

Need a different look? We can apply custom police liveries, markings, and graphics in-house to match your production’s requirements — including non-standard designs for fictional police forces.

ODD FACT

In the late 1980s and 1990s, UK traffic police forces often tuned their Rover 800-series (including the 820) with unofficial performance tweaks not listed in the manufacturer’s spec — sometimes even swapping in Police-spec ECUs and uprated cooling fans so they could comfortably cruise at 120mph+ on motorways without overheating.

It wasn’t unusual for these cars to quietly outperform civilian Rovers, but the upgrades were kept quiet to avoid public complaints about "wasting taxpayer money" on speed.

Can I drive the police car myself?

No. For safety, legal, and insurance reasons, all of our police vehicles are driven by our experienced on-set drivers only. This also ensures accurate positioning for filming and prevents any risk of damage.

Can the blue lights and sirens be used during filming?

Yes – but only under strict conditions and in compliance with UK law. We can operate the blue lights and sirens on private roads, studio lots, or controlled filming locations. On public roads, usage must be approved by the relevant authorities.

Do you deliver outside of London?

Absolutely. We regularly deliver vehicles nationwide using our modern recovery truck. The Rover 820 can be transported anywhere in the UK, with or without additional vehicles in tow.

Can you change the livery for my production?

Yes. We own and maintain all vehicles in-house, and our professional graphics team can create custom liveries to suit your storyline — including fictional police designs.

Can the Rover 820 be hired with other emergency vehicles?

Yes. We can supply it alongside our 1995 Ford Transit Ambulance and 1986 Dennis Fire Engine for multi-vehicle scenes or era-specific shoots.

Is the car road legal?

Yes, our Rover 820 is fully road legal and maintained to a high standard. We handle all legal compliance for its use in film, TV, events, and promotional work.
