Launched in 1996, the Lancer Evolution IV took everything Mitsubishi had learned on the world's rally stages and put it into a compact four-door saloon. Turbocharged, four-wheel drive and endlessly tunable, it turned a humble Lancer into a genuine giant-killer.

It was the car that launched the Evo into legend, the era of fierce rivalry on gravel and tarmac and a generation of fans who grew up wanting one. The big rear wing, flared arches and purposeful stance are instantly recognisable.
