2001 · Mercedes-Benz Sprinter · Genuine OB conversion · Working dish & mast · London based, nationwide
A genuine outside broadcast Sprinter, not a sticker van pretending to be one. It carries a real satellite dish, a deployable telescopic mast and a full rear production bay, so on camera every detail reads true. One of a handful of authentic OB Sprinters left on the road, it is a camera-ready satellite news van for film, TV, live events, brand activations, exhibitions and photoshoots across London and nationwide. The bodywork is deliberately blank, ready to wear a real brand or a fictional network for a drama.
Driven only by our team, on set or moved into position for a static hire. The dish and mast are deployed by us in advance and only where it is safe and permitted. Self drive is not offered unless separately agreed.
Owned by us, hired directly from us
Every vehicle in our fleet is wholly owned by Klassic Garage. We are not a broker or middleman for other people's vehicles. We take real pride in our own collection, and we know each vehicle's history, character and abilities inside out, knowledge that comes with every hire, whether it is working on set or anchoring a live event.
A believable satellite news van that puts a broadcast on set in seconds, for productions, launches and live events across London and nationwide.
Live · London
A real OB van for dramas, films, adverts and music videos, wrapped in-house as a fictional network or run blank. Driven and rigged on set by our team, with the dish and mast up so the shot reads as a genuine live broadcast.
An eye-catching anchor for launches, sports days, festivals and press events, where a working satellite van signals a live moment. It draws a crowd and gives photographers and reporters a natural place to gather.
The blank bodywork becomes a rolling billboard for a campaign, wrapped in your brand for exhibitions, roadshows and activations, then reset to blank for the next production. One van, endless liveries.
A striking prop for editorial, stills and stand displays, with the dish, mast and production bay giving depth and authenticity to the frame, as a driven feature or a static centrepiece.
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has been the workhorse of European broadcast and support fleets since it arrived in the mid 1990s, roomy, dependable and easy to convert. Ours is a 2001 example that was given a full outside broadcast conversion, the sort of van that once travelled the country to beam live pictures back from news stories, sport and events.
As real OB work moved to newer trucks and bonded cellular kit, most of these Sprinters were scrapped or stripped out. This is one of a handful of genuine OB conversions left on the road, kept complete rather than gutted, which is exactly why it holds up under a camera.
We keep the bodywork blank on purpose. Our graphics team can wrap it in-house as a fictional news channel for a drama, or in a real brand for an activation, then return it to blank for the next job.
This is what separates a real OB van from a sticker van. The satellite dish is functional, the telescopic mast raises on cue, and the rear opens into a proper production bay, so the whole thing behaves like the working vehicle it once was.
That authenticity is what directors and coordinators come for. When the dish is up and the crew is around the tailgate, the shot sells itself, no dressing or fakery required. Every deployment is set up and operated by our team in advance, and only where it is safe and permitted.
The dish points. The mast deploys. The cameras believe it.
